The Traditions Kentucky is a faithful nod to the long rifles that pushed west across the Appalachians, and it is one of the more approachable ways into traditional muzzleloading. Traditions builds it on a slim, full-length hardwood stock with a blued octagonal barrel and a percussion or flintlock-style lock in keeping with the original pattern, and the long sight radius and light muzzle taper make it a genuinely pleasant offhand shooter rather than a wall hanger.

It appeals equally to primitive-weapons hunters, reenactors, and anyone who wants to slow down and learn to shoot with powder, patch and ball. As a muzzleloader it is generally not treated as a firearm under federal law.
