Shipping & Delivery
We ship nationwide, primarily via UPS and FedEx. Most orders ship within 1–2 business days (Mon–Fri). Firearms ship to your dealer within 1–2 business days after their FFL is on file; NFA items ship after ATF Form 3 approval; items routed through our licensed premises ship within 3–5 business days.
Shipping rates
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight, item type, and destination. We pass through carrier rates with a small handling fee — we don't profit from shipping. The contiguous 48 states ship at the standard rates below.

Rates shown are starting prices. Heavier or oversize items will be charged in 30-lb increments. Final shipping is calculated at checkout.
Delivery timeframes
- Ground Economy: 5–7 business days
- Ground Premium: 3–5 business days
- Second-Day Air: 2 business days
- Next Day Air: 1 business day (where available)
Delivery times are estimates from the carrier and don't include order processing (most orders ship within 1–2 business days, Mon–Fri) or weather/holiday delays. Tracking information is emailed once your order ships.
Hazmat & ammunition
We don't currently sell smokeless powder, primers, percussion caps or other hazmat items online. Factory-loaded ammunition ships by ground under the carrier's limited-quantity rules.
Firearms shipping
All firearms ship to a federally licensed dealer (FFL) of your choice, never to a residential address. See our FFL & Compliance page for the full transfer process. Adult signature is required on delivery. The receiving FFL will contact you when your firearm arrives.
Our distributors ship handguns and long guns on separate orders. If you order both in one transaction, we'll split shipment and send tracking for each separately.
Alaska, Hawaii & territories
We ship nationwide. For Alaska and Hawaii, we ship firearms to your FFL only and can't ship ammunition. We can't ship to US territories or APO/FPO addresses at this time. PO boxes are not supported by all carriers — please provide a physical address whenever possible.
Address accuracy
Please double-check the shipping address before placing your order. Address corrections or package intercepts after shipment incur a $20 per-parcel fee from the carrier, which we have to pass through. We don't make money on this — it's the actual carrier fee.
Lost or damaged packages
If your package is lost, stolen, or arrives damaged, contact us at support@dawson-defense.com within 5 business days of the expected delivery date, and we'll work with the carrier on the claim.
