The Colt Series 70 Competition Plus takes the most iconic 1911 name in the world and sets it up for serious work: a 5-inch National Match barrel for accuracy, the clean Series 70 trigger system shooters prize, and Colt's dual spring recoil system to flatten muzzle movement. Chambered in the cartridge the 1911 was born to fire — .45 ACP — and finished in a handsome two-tone, it's equally at home in a bullseye match, a steel challenge, or simply delivering the big-bore satisfaction only a government-frame Colt provides. A genuine prancing pony on the slide still means something.
