Colt built the original 1911 and still builds a very good one, and the Combat Elite Government is the company's most feature-rich production model. It is a full-size 5-inch gun with a two-tone stainless and blackened finish, a National Match barrel, a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump, an upswept mainspring housing, and G10 grips. This version is chambered in 9mm Luger, which in a full-size all-steel 1911 produces almost no recoil and superb accuracy, and it arrives optic-ready with night sights already fitted. A serious range, competition, and carry pistol from the source.
