Crimson Trace's Laserguard for the Ruger MAX-9 replaces the trigger guard area with a laser module that activates instinctively when you take a normal firing grip, which is the design's real advantage: there is no separate switch to remember under stress. This version projects a green beam, which the human eye perceives as dramatically brighter than red in daylight, making it far more usable outdoors. On a micro-compact carry pistol with a short sight radius, a laser also allows accurate shooting from retention or awkward positions where you cannot align the sights. It installs without gunsmithing and adjusts for windage and elevation.
