Weatherby's Backcountry family is built around a simple premise: the lightest rifle you will still shoot well. A titanium Mark V action anchors this one, cutting significant weight from the heaviest component in any rifle, and the carbon composite stock keeps that savings intact. The 22-inch barrel is a smart length for .25 Creedmoor, a cartridge that is picking up serious momentum among western hunters for pushing modern high-BC quarter-bore bullets flat and fast with mild recoil, making it a fine deer, antelope, and long-range coyote round.

The Mark V's 54-degree bolt lift makes fast follow-up shots easy even with a large scope mounted.
