The Savage Axis 2 XP is one of the best values in a ready-to-hunt package: a scoped bolt-action rifle that comes sighted-in-ready right out of the box. Chambered in the timeless .30-06 Springfield — capable of taking everything from whitetail to elk — it pairs a 22-inch carbon steel barrel with a rugged synthetic stock and a factory-mounted scope. Savage's button-rifled barrels have a well-earned reputation for accuracy at working-class prices, and the .30-06 offers the widest ammunition selection of any big-game cartridge. An honest, capable hunting rig.
