The Savage Axis 2 Compact XP is a ready-to-hunt package built around one of the best values in bolt-action rifles, and this left-hand version chambers the .350 Legend — the straight-wall cartridge that has opened up deer hunting in states with cartridge restrictions while keeping recoil mild. The compact stock dimensions and 18-inch barrel make it a natural fit for smaller-framed shooters and youth hunters, and the XP package includes a factory-mounted and bore-sighted scope so you can head to the range right out of the box. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger gives a crisp, safe break that helps new shooters build good habits, while the green synthetic stock shrugs off weather.
