The Savage Axis 2 built its reputation on shooting far better than its price suggests, thanks to the adjustable AccuTrigger and Savage's barrel nut headspacing, which sets every rifle precisely at the factory. The Compact version shortens the length of pull and overall dimensions for smaller-framed shooters.

This one is a genuine left-hand rifle with a 20-inch barrel in .223 Remington and a bronze Woodland finish. Nearly no recoil and cheap ammunition make it an outstanding first centerfire rifle, and it is entirely capable on coyotes and predators.
