The Savage 1911 marked the storied rifle maker's return to handguns, and it arrived swinging: a forged stainless frame and slide, precision machining, and fit that impressed reviewers accustomed to semi-custom pricing. This Government-size model in 9mm wears a black Melonite-style finish and adds an accessory rail for lights and lasers, a practical touch for nightstand duty. The 9mm chambering makes the all-steel platform an absolute pussycat to shoot, with the classic single-action 1911 trigger delivering the crisp break that has kept this design beloved for over a century. A serious American-made 1911 with modern features.
