The 6mm ARC was engineered specifically to push high-BC 6mm bullets from an AR-15-sized platform, and 18 inches is the length where it really comes into its own, giving flat trajectory and excellent wind performance with recoil mild enough to stay on target through a string. Seekins' free-float handguards and receiver fit are a large part of the accuracy.
