The SIG516 G3 is SIG Sauer's short-stroke gas piston take on the AR platform, chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 16-inch barrel and a black finish. Rather than routing hot gas back into the receiver, the piston system drives an operating rod against the carrier, which keeps the action cleaner and cooler over long strings of fire and makes the rifle more forgiving when running suppressed or in dirty conditions.

The G3 generation added a four-position adjustable gas regulator, free-floating handguard and refined controls. This Freedom Package configuration is a practical, ready-to-shoot setup for training, defense or range work.
