The Prodigy is Springfield Armory's double-stack 1911 in 9mm — a 2011-pattern pistol built to bring the platform's famously crisp trigger and low bore axis within reach of ordinary shooters rather than custom-shop waiting lists. A modular polymer grip module holds the high-capacity magazine while the steel frame and slide keep the shooting feel of a full-size 1911.

This configuration runs a 5-inch barrel and Springfield's AOS (Agency Optic System) plate design, which lets you mount most popular red dots directly to the slide with a low, secure fit instead of stacking adapters.
