Front caps are user-serviceable wear items and also a tuning point: swapping to an internal flash hider version reduces visible signature at the muzzle, which matters for night shooting and for anyone working with night vision. Because SilencerCo designs the Charlie modular system around interchangeable end caps, changing one is a straightforward hand operation rather than a service trip. Keeping a spare on hand is sensible, since a damaged or loosening cap will take a suppressor out of service.
