Direct thread is the simplest and most concentric way to mount a suppressor, threading the can straight onto the host barrel with no intermediate adapter, which means fewer parts to loosen and typically the best possible alignment.

The trade-off is speed; direct thread mounts take longer to install and remove than a quick-detach system, which is why they are favored on dedicated hosts where the can stays put. Having the right thread pitch on hand is what lets one suppressor serve multiple barrels, so matching mounts to your hosts is standard practice.
