Ruger's SFAR is an unusual rifle — a .308 built on essentially AR-15 dimensions rather than the larger AR-10 pattern — and it feeds from SR-25 pattern magazines. This is a factory 20-round magazine in 7.62x51, manufactured by C Products with a steel body.

Steel-bodied magazines are the traditional choice for .308 semi-autos for a reason: the cartridge is long and heavy, and steel feed lips hold their geometry under the loading and handling that would eventually spread aluminum. Twenty rounds is the standard capacity for the platform and balances well in the rifle. Using the manufacturer's specified magazine is the surest route to reliable feeding.
