Rock Island's .22 TCM conversion kit turns a compatible 1911 into a rifle-velocity bottleneck-cartridge pistol by swapping the slide assembly and magazine. The .22 TCM is Armscor's own creation, necking down a .223 case to .22 caliber and driving a light bullet at velocities that produce a fireball worth seeing and a trajectory unlike anything else in a handgun. Recoil is minimal despite the velocity, so it makes an excellent low-recoil practice option on a familiar frame. Installation requires no gunsmithing: the kit drops on and the original slide goes right back when you want it.
