A Proof Research carbon fiber pre-fit barrel cut for the SIG Cross, chambered in 6mm Creedmoor at 16 inches. Pre-fit barrels are one of the easier upgrades in the precision world: the shoulder and headspace are set at the factory, so a rebarrel becomes a job you can often handle yourself rather than a trip to a gunsmith.

The carbon fiber wrap is what makes this worth doing, taking substantial weight off the muzzle while resisting heat-induced point-of-impact shift better than a comparable steel profile. The 6mm Creedmoor is a flat, mild-recoiling cartridge with excellent wind performance for hunting and competition alike.
