GForce Arms builds accessible defensive shotguns, and the GF1 is the company's pump-action 12 gauge in the standard home-defense configuration: an 18.5-inch barrel with a four-round magazine, here finished in nickel and fitted with a pistol grip.

The enduring argument for a pump gun in this role is mechanical indifference — it will cycle birdshot, buckshot and slugs interchangeably because you are the action, and there is no gas system to keep clean or ammunition power floor to worry about. The nickel finish is more than cosmetic; it adds corrosion resistance for a gun that may sit loaded and untouched for long stretches.
