The Browning Semi-Auto 22 is one of John Browning's more elegant designs, patented in 1914 and still in production because nothing has improved on it. Rounds load through a port in the buttstock, feed up a tube, and eject downward, meaning the gun throws nothing across a right-handed or left-handed shooter's face. It takes down into two halves with a twist of the barrel, making it the classic pack and canoe rifle. This Grade II version wears an octagon barrel with a satin nickel receiver and engraving, dressing up a rifle that already shoots and handles beautifully.
