Bushnell's R7 sits at the serious end of the company's riflescope lineup, and this 3-15x50 is a well-judged all-around configuration — enough bottom-end field of view for close work in timber and enough top-end magnification for open-country shots. The first focal plane reticle is the key detail: because the reticle scales with magnification, your MOA holdover and ranging subtensions stay accurate at any power setting, which is exactly what you need when you are holding rather than dialing. Illumination makes the center visible in low light at dawn and dusk, when most game actually moves.
