The Bushnell R7 uses ED glass, extra-low dispersion elements that reduce the color fringing that appears around high-contrast edges. In the field that means cleaner detail when you are judging an animal against a bright skyline or trying to resolve movement in deep shade at the ends of the day.

This is a 10x50 configuration, and both numbers matter. The 10x magnification gives real reach for picking apart distant hillsides and counting points, while the large 50mm objectives gather substantially more light, which is exactly what you want during the first and last twenty minutes of legal shooting light. Best used with a tripod or a solid rest.
